We will apply on your behalf for governmental and provincial financial assistance to cover up to 75% of your Process Integration Studies and Energy Management/Optimization project costs.

Financial assistance for energy management projects is available. In fact, the majority of energy efficiency projects become profitable after financial support. Yet, project leads and managers aren’t always aware of financial assistance programs available to help them with their energy-saving projects.

 

Financial assistance for PI studies can help lower the cost of hiring a technical firm to perform these types of assessments. Facilities undertaking these studies typically have complex energy systems with many heat exchangers and use large amounts of energy – usually more than 75,000 giga joules per year.

A PI study is a global energy analysis that looks at

  • how your organization uses heat

  • where you can recover heat

  • what could be the best use for that heat in your facility

 

Below is a summary of the services we offer in connection with the financial support available from Emission Reduction Alberta (ERA) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan):

Procedure

We will be there for you at every step of applying for financial aid and help you get the most out of your funding sources:

  • Collecting relevant & required information 

  • Drafting a measurement plan and project plans

  • Gathering data for pre- and post-project measurements

  • Calculations signed by a professional and licensed engineer

  • Writing pre- and post-project measurement reports

  • Coordination and technical support with the institutions involved

Without regulatory obligations and financial assistance programs, far fewer projects would go ahead and the industry that depends on these projects would suffer greatly. Here are some of the available programs:

  • Funding for Process Integration Studies (Natural Resources Canada). Eligible costs are:​

    • Salaries,

    • Professional, scientific, technical and contracting services

    • Data collection, benchmarking, monitoring and analysis services

    • Training

    • Technical audits, assessments and evaluations

  • Energy Saving funding for Businesses provided by Emission Reduction Alberta (ERA) for following topics:

    • Waste Energy Recovery ​

    • Combined Heat & Power (CHP) or Co-Generation 

    • Process Heating

    • Water Heating 

    • Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)

  • Financial assistance for industrial energy management projects by NRCan

    • ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard projects​

    • Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS) projects
